The CHS Mental Health Centre is comprised of two clinical teams: the Adults' team, and the Children, Adolescents and Family team. The clinical teams provide a comprehensive mental health service to all ages, individually, in couples, and in family groups.

There are regular opportunities to join our clinical teams. Members are self-employed and must be proficient in written and spoken English, as this is the working language of the Centre. Qualifications gained abroad must be recognised by the relevant authorities in Belgium. Professional insurance must be in place.

CHS is an organisation with community at the heart of its ethos. All clinical team members are expected to contribute actively to the running of the organisation, as well as to undertake a percentage of pro bono work as part of their caseload.

Candidates for the Adults' Team will have 3-5 years recognised postgraduate training (at Master's or Doctorate level) in clinical psychology or psychotherapy, including a theoretical component, as well as clinically supervised practice. Training certificates will be requested.

Additional training requirements:

• Ongoing engagement in continuous professional development activities such as supervised practice, attendance at further training courses, and participation in conferences.

Professional experience:

• Five years clinically supervised professional practice as a clinical psychologist or psychotherapist (we will not consider applications with less than 5 years full-time experience)
• Professional references should be provided

Professional registration:

• Registration with the relevant professional body (for example, La Commission des Psychologues, European Association of Psychotherapy)
• Registered as self employed

Competences and personal attributes:

• Team spirit and ability to work collaboratively with other members of our multidisciplinary team
• Interest in working with professionals from different theoretical backgrounds
• Ability to be responsible for therapy cases autonomously, within a rigorous ethical framework, and a sound understanding of the principles guiding evidence-based practice.
• Proficient spoken and written English

Candidates for the Children, Adolescents and Family Team will have 3-5 years recognised postgraduate training (at Master's or Doctorate level) in clinical psychology or psychotherapy, including a theoretical component, as well as clinically supervised practice. Training certificates will be requested.

Additional training requirements:

• A specialisation in child and/or family therapy, preferably a training in early childhood therapy (for example, developmental psychotherapy)
• Ongoing engagement in continuous professional development activities, such as supervised practice, attendance at further training courses, and participation in conferences.

Professional experience:

• Five years clinically supervised professional practice as a clinical psychologist or psychotherapist
• A minimum of one year full-time clinically supervised practice with children and young people
• Professional references should be provided

Professional registration:

• Registration with the relevant professional body (for example, La Commission des Psychologues, European Association of Psychotherapy)
• Registered as self employed

Competences and personal attributes:

• Team spirit and ability to work collaboratively with other members of our team
• Ability to be responsible for therapy cases autonomously, within a rigorous ethical framework, and a sound understanding of the principles guiding evidence-based practice.
• Ability to carry out psycho-educational assessments (administering cognitive ability and achievement tests, interpreting results and writing comprehensive reports, making relevant recommendations, liaising with schools, communicating results to families in a sensitive way)
• Interest in early childhood (0-6) is an asset
• Proficient spoken and written English

Candidates will be trained in psychiatry, fully accredited and registered in Belgium and must be fluent in English. Candidates will have a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying clinical experience, capable of working independently and within a rigorous ethical framework.

CHS is an organisation made up of practitioners from multiple theoretical approaches. Successful candidates will be part of a multi-disciplinary group, must have previous experience working in a team, and a good understanding of evidence-based practice.

CHS would like to expand the range of services on offer to the international community from our attractive premises. We are interested in self-employed professionals specialising in, for example, art therapy, speech and language therapy, graphomotor (handwriting) therapy, occupational therapy, neuro-feedback, sophrology, remedial teaching and learning support, who would be interested to work at CHS for at least half a day each week.
