2021 CHS Calendars Available Now

The Community Help Service annual calendar is much more than a calendar. It's full of useful, practical and sometimes 'out-of–the way' information for both newcomers to Brussels and long-term residents. All information is up to date and presented in an easily-accessible format.

The CHS calendar is a valuable reference source throughout the year – just one of the many reasons people collect it year after year.

AmCham Belgium's #Decision2020

A running commentary of the US Presidential Race

On both sides of the Atlantic, November 3, 2020 is a date to be marked on the calendar. There is little more than a month until the US Presidential elections, but the outcome is still far from certain.

Curious to find out where the candidates stand on the issues that matter most to voters? Join our virtual event '#Decision2020: A running commentary of the US Presidential Race' taking place on Friday, October 16.

Baron Frans van Daele, one of Belgium's most experienced diplomats, will open up the discussion with remarks on potential factors influencing the election, such as voter turn-out and the relative influence of foreign policy. He will also touch upon topics such as populism, law and order, and healthcare.

Following this introduction, van Daele will join a panel discussion with Pauline Manos, Chair of Democrats Abroad Belgium, and Mike Kulbickas, Chair of Republicans Overseas Belgium. The conversation will be moderated by Ian Lesser, Vice President and Executive Director of the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Brussels.

For both US and non-US citizens from all backgrounds, this is a unique opportunity to get an insight into the perspectives of the two sides of the political spectrum. For the first time this year, the Belgian party representatives of the Democrats and Republicans will share their opinion on the same stage!

The Community Help Service continues to follow the advice of Belgian authorities and the World Health Organisation to ensure the safety of our clients, volunteers and staff.

Anyone in a high-risk group is strongly advised to request an online/telephone appointment.

The following rules apply to visitors to our Centre:

  • Clients are required to wear a mask at all times while visiting the Centre and to sanitise their hands upon entry.
  • Clients should arrive as close to their appointment as possible and will be greeted at the door by their therapist. The waiting room is not in use.
  • Any person experiencing flu symptoms or respiratory complaints should not attend their appointment.

These guidelines may change as the situation in Belgium evolves. We will keep you up-to-date via our website and social media channels.
